CRICKET COMPETITIONS.
THE SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. FINAL MATCHES END TO-DAY. NORTH SHORE-EDEN CONTEST. I'inality in the senior championship competition of the Auckland Cricket Association will be reached this afternoon. North Shore, who have a commanding lead for the premiership, made 314 runs at Eden Park last Saturday against Eden, the runners up. Eden's innings will be watched with interest as, although they have a very difficult task before them, they have shown up previously as a strong batting side and can be expected to put up a great fight. On No. 2 wicket at Eden Park, Grafton are faced with the task of scoring 391 runs to give them a first-innings advantage over University. An interesting stage has been reached in the match between Parnell and! 'Ponsonby at Devonport. Parnell were dismissed last Saturday for 81, Ponsonby replying with 147. When stumps were drawn ParnelPs second innings score stood at 34 for one wicket, so that everything will depend on to-day's performances. The only second grade match, that between University and Parnell A, will be continued at Victoria Park. The third and fourth grade games will be advanced a further stage. Four of the Suburban Association's senior matches will be continued at Victoria Park this afternoon, most interest being centred in the final, of the B section between Green Lane and Y.M.C.A.
