It is reported from Tientsin, in the Chihli province, that the advance -guard of General Li Ching-lin's, Fengtien army lias occupied Machang, 40 miles south of Tientsin, and is advancing along the railway. The third division of the Kuominchun, or national army, is demoralised owing to lack of guns, ammunition and food. It has been replaced by two divisions from the First Army.
