SAINTS OF OLD.
SKELETONS IDENTIFIED. EVIDENCE OF A MURDER. Reuter. LONDON, Jan. 24. It has been definitely ascertained that two human skeletons which were found in the Kirkwall Cathedral, Orkney Islands, are the remains of Saint Magnus and his nephew, Saint Bognvald. The latter, who lived 800 years ago, founded the church in fulfilment of his vow to erect a minster suitable to receive his saintly uncle's relic. It is noteworthy that in the back of the skull which is believed to be that of Saint Magnus, is a long hole. This is compatible with the historical fact that Saint Magnus was killed by a blow on the head with a sharp instrument.
