REVIEW OF THE FIELDS. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] WELLINGTON. Thursday. The fields at Trentham to-morrow will be just of handy size, and with favourable weather conditions there should be some great racing. Kilorum, no doubt, will be favourite for the Miingaroa High-Weight Handicap, but it might not be surprising to find Kilburn improved by his raco on tho first day. There are one or two newcomers in the Trial Plate. Westbroke raced well on the first day in a much stronger field than this. >Tannadice is a possibility, while Plain Sailing has shown pace if sho can stay out the seven furlongs. The January Welter Handicap should present a problem for backers, for Martulla and Phoenix Park both ran very well yesterday, while Good Sport and Tarleton are fresh horses. Father O'Flynn should be improved by his race on the first day. The form, however, points to Martulla and Phoenix Park as a pair that should take a part in the settlement of the question. Kilperon and Battlement, runners in the Wellington Stakes, and Spode. Wild Work and Eloquent are newcomers for the Nursery Handicap. Elthein. who was unlucky yesterday, may make amends, while Paper Boy was another who did not appear to have the best of fortune on tho first day. A risa of 10lb. for Lady Desmond, winner of the Fitzherbert Handicap is not prohibitive.

Tho Wellington Racine Club Handicap should give rise to a .very interesting contest. Tho bracketed pair. Star Stranger and Star Bangor, and Enthusiasm are likely to be the popular fancies. Fool's Paradise is equal to running out a good ten furlongs and ho may have something to say in tho finish. Tho Douro Cup promises to be a fine race, for hardly ono of the acceptors can be discarded. Polyphemus and Ivilbronsyth should have a good tussle for favouritism, but at a mile Kilbronsyth should beat Polyphemus. Wristlet. M.v Hobby, Bon March and Diogenes can be expected to run well, while of the light-weights Oreum may trouble most. Grand Knight has gone back to the sprinters and with 9st. 3lb. in the Metropolitan Handicap he is ■ not badly treated. The Thorn and Lady Cavendish will also complicate matters for backers, who have to consider the first day's winner, Cawnpore, •filid the third. Pelham. Set Sail and Black Cat are another pair not to be overlooked. Grand Knight. Lady Cavendish and Pelham comprise a trio that may prove hard to separate.

If Westbroke is reserved for the Camp Handicap ho is not badly placed, while Minotus will have to be considered. Serotina and Nino of Spades cannot, however, bo left out of calculations.
