Sir, —I—and perhaps I could accurately speak for all us Britishers aboard the Carinthia—could not leave your beautiful country and your fine, natural people without expressing delight at being so fortunate as having paid you a visit. Your country is truly the Great Britain of the Southern Hemisphere. We also called at Wellington, but unfortunately were not so blessed as to visit the South Island. Ar. revoir. Musician".
