AEROPLANE JOYSTICK.
PROTECTION BY PATENT. • RIGHTS OF THE INVENTOR. A. and N.Z. PARIS, Jan. 1. The Supreme Court has decided that the joy-stick device controlling the. wings and rudder of is protected by patent, and that it is the property of the inventor, M. Esnault Pelterie. It is expected that attempts will Ixj made to collect <the royalties from foreign countries. ** M. Esnault Pelterie, the inventor of the aeroplane joy-stick control, known in France as the "Broomstick," failed in April last in a claim for damages in Paris brought against the Avro Company. Tho Court held that the company was merely an agent of the British Government. It non-suited M. Pelterie .on :Lbe ground that no foreign Government could bo sued in the French Courts. M. Pelterie, in 1924, obtained £120,000 in similar claims against French aeroplane companies.
