'l'hero was a gratifying attendance at the fif'ty-rLith. annual sports and highland earned conducted by tho Waipu Caledonian Society at Waipu. The arrangements generally Vicro excellent. The dancing was "of a high standard. Miss Cf. MacNaushton \von B&ven events of the' eight in which she competed. including the championship in the «word danco for ifirls under 18 and the Bailor's hornpipe champiocship for girls itnder 16. Tho athletics events were accorded stronger representation than in the I'E.st, the major portion being run of! in heats. Tho most successful competitor was, L. D.
