CAPTAIN CANNING'S EFFORT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 11.30 p.m.) PARIS, Dec. 29 In a statement regarding the visit to Paris of Captain Gordon Canning, who has been in touch with Abd el Krim, the Premier, M. Briand, said that too much importance should not be attached to the statement made by Captain Canning regarding the question of terms of peace with the Riffs.
