PIRATES !N AEGEAN SEA. VESSELS ATTACKED WITH GUNS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.30 p.m.) ATHENS. Dec. 22. Up-to-date pirates, equipped with speedy motor-boats, are operating in the Jigean Sea, in the vicinity of the Dardanelles. The boats carry guns, with which small shipping is attacked. The latest exploit consisted of an attack on a yawl, which is the property of a wealthy merchant. The fate of the yawl is unknown.

The shipowners have sent an urgent request to the Greek Government to afford protection.
