"NO ENEMY GOODS."

A CHINESE BOYCOTT.

[from our own correspondent.] SHANGHAI. Nov. 8. A new organisation, known as "The Citizen's Association for the Boycott of Enemy Goods," has been formed in Shanghai, to push the boycott of "enemy goods," and to advocate the use of Chinese national products. Members of the association must swear that they will never buy "enemy goods," and will also persuade others from purchasing same. No Chinese in the employ of either British or Japanese firms is admitted as a member of the association; furthermore, any member buying, selling or in any way dealing in "enemy goods'' shall be fined and his name and offence published in the local newspapers. It is proposed to keep the association going by public subscriptions, but so far there lias been no marked rush on the part of the Chinese to subscribe.
