To mark the conclusion of the British bowlers' visit to Auckland, a farewell was accorded the team in the Town Hall concert chamber last evening by the executive of the Auckland centre of the New Zealand Bowling Association. The president, Mr. James Pascoe, was in the chair. The Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, was present.

Mr. said the visit marked the most important event that h»td occurred in Dominion bowling circles for some years. It was with the deepest regret that they said good-bye, as the sporting spirit of each and every member of the team had left its mark.

Mr. J. W. Hardley,' vice-president of the Auckland Centre, said the most insistent demands to entertain the visitors had come from all over New Zealand. There were 287 clubs in the Dominion, but comparatively few would have the opportunity of playing with the British team. They had had a short stay in Auckland, but the centre was thankful for being able to do what if had done. Mr. Hardley referred to the spirit of the visitors, and said that even if they were forgotten as bowlers they would bo remembered for what they were off the greens. Mr. G. Wright, captain of the British team, in reply, said they never would forget the reception accorded them in the first New Zealand town to be visited. They had been told that they would have a quiet time in Auckland, but the programme had been the most strenuous of the tour so far. He hoped the team had carried out the arrangements to everyone's satisfaction. In conclusion, he thanked all whom they had met for what had been done on their behalf. Thanks wore also returned by Mr. W. N. Wake, secretary, Messrs. I. B. Thomas, J. Millar and R. Husband, captains of the Welsh, Irish and Scottish representatives respectively. During the evening musical selections were given by a special orchestra, under Mr. Colin Muston. Items were also contributed by the Lyric Quartette, Professor Maxwell Walker, Messrs. A. McElwain, .T. F. Montague and J. Ryan, and Misses E. Miller, B. Stuart and M. Grevatt.
