RUDDER BROKEN IN GALE. BOUND TO SAN FRANCISCO. (Received 7.5 p.m.) Rwrter. VANCOUVER. Dec.. 15. The Standard Oil Company's tanker H. T. Harper, bound to San Francisco from Sydney, Australia, is in trouble 2000 miles from San Francisco. A message states that the vessel's ladder was smashed in heavy weather. The H. T. Harper is a steel twin-serew steamer of 3805 tons gross register, and is registered at San Francisco. She left Sydney for San Francisco on November 27.
