WANTED IN AUSTRALIA.
ARREST ON THE MAKURA. ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE. [by telegraph.—press association.] WELLINGTON. Monday. When the steamer Makura arrived at Wellington this morning from Sydney she was boarded in the stream by Detectives Cameron and Sinclair, who arrested William Henry Curtis, a roan wanted in Australia. Curtis, who is aged 43, and described as a musician, was charged in the Police Court that on November 30 at Sydney he did wound Annie Louisa Timpson, with intent to murder her. On the application of the police accused was remanded for a week, pending the arrival of an escort from Sydney.
