MORNINGSIDE TO KUMEU. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] KUMEU. Monday. Betwcn 50 and 60 settlers from Hobsonville, Massey, Brigham's Creek and Whenuapai attended a meeting in the Whenuapai Hall on Saturday evening, when Mr. C. S. Davis, vice-president of the Kumeu Ratepayers' Association, outlined action he deemed advisable in putting forward the suggestion that the proposed Morningside-Kumeu deviation should be proceeded with at an early date. The deviation would cut off 6A to seven miles of the distance by rail from Kumeu to Auckland and eliminate all the heavy grades. Those present promised enthusiastic support to the movement.
