MOUNT RICHMOND DOMAIN.

Sirj—An advertisement appeared in your issue of December 2 calling a public meeting to be held in the Otahuhu Public Hail on December 8, for the purpose o£ selecting names of persons to b.e submitted to His Excellency the Governor-General, for appointment as the Mount Kichmond Domain Board in place of the retiring board. Now that the public have obtained this franchise, I hope they will nominate only persons who are in favour of the preservation of the remnants of Auckland's once beautiful volcanic hills, also of the 740 scenic beauty spots which are the most valuable asset possessed by the Dominion. The new franchise should cause the public to take more interest in preserving and beautifying our public parks. J. Atkinson. Otahuhu.
