Several persons havo been arrested who are suspected of complicity in the plot to ■ assassinate the Prime Minister, Signor ' Mussolini, who has received thousands of ' telegrams of congratulation upon his esr cape, not only from Italy, but from abroad. 3 The Fascist newspaper Epoca says the 5 plot was more ambitious than was origin--1 ally supposed. It was not merely aimed 1 at killing Signor Mussolini, but was intended to have been the starting point k for a revolution and for the declaration of a Republic. 5 The police made numerous -aid;; in 'the J Genoa district. As a result eight persons were arrested and 30 were detained a for judicial examination. Those arrested include Giovanni Ansalo, ' chief editor of the Socialist newspaper, Illavoro, the offices of which are now 5 occupied by the police; Uliese Ducci, chief of tho Free Italy Association, which was recently dissolved as being subversive;, 1 and a brother of General Capello's.
