JOCKEY SLIGHTLY HURT. HORSE DIES AFTER FALL. Hie concluding race at Eellerslie on Saturday, the Flying Handicap, was responsible for an unexpected thrill. Just as the horses dashed into the straight, General Pryde, ridden by H. Wiggins, ; racing well out from the rails, stumbled and fell, and Sunbar, ridden by E. Tuohev, racing immediately behind, was brought down. Both horses quickly regained their feet, and so did Tuohey. Wisrgins, however, was hurt, and had to be conveyed to the Auckland Hospital. After receiving treatment for abrasions, he was able yesterday to return to his home. After regaining his feet General Pryde walked with leisurely stride unattended up the straight and it was realised he was ' hurt. When he reached a point just opposite the judge'g box he collapsed and died in a few minutes. The horse, who was owned by Mr. A. W. Prangley, of Onehnnga, had won several races.
