OPAPA RAILWAY SMASH.
CHARGES OF MANSLAUGHTER. ENGINEDRIVER REMANDED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] NAPIER. Saturday. At Napier this morning Frederick Lav in, driver of the Napier-Wellington express which was derailed at Opapa on September 22, resulting in- the deaths of Murdoch Campbell, Edward Vivian lgguiden and, Kathleen • Begley, all of whom subsequently expired from injuries sustained in the accident, was charged with manslaughter in the case of each of the victims. On the application of tire police "a remand was granted until .November 14, when a further remand till November 19 will be asked for. Mr. B. J. Dolnn appeared for accused, and asked for bail, which was granted in a personal bond of £SOO and two sureties of £250.
