RADIO FOR WHITE ISLAND.
SUCCESSFUL TESTS MADE. CONDITIONS PROVE NORMAL. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OPOTIKI. Friday. Tests with wireless have been made on White Island by Mr. G. T. Guide, of Opotiki, who is to instal a station there. The experimental sets picked up Pittsburg and Pennsylvania at 3.45 p.m. on Wednesday, and lateor KGO, California. Mr. Guide is of opinion that reception on the island is every bit equal to that on the mainland. Thermal activity has very little if any noticeable effect. Mr. Guide checked notes with his son working the station at Opotiki, which also pkked up Pittsburg.
