PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS [BY TELEGRAPH. —TRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLING TON, Thursday. A number of promotions in the Lands and Survey Department, tire announced. Two of them are incidental to the creation of new positions in the head office. Mr. W. Robertson, formerly departmental inspector, has been appointed 'assistant under-secretary. Mr. J. If. O'Donnell, cliief accountant, has been created controller of accounts and land revenue. Mr. J. R. MaeCormick, senior clerk at the head office, is appointed chief clerk, vice Mr. W. R. Jourdain, retired. Mr. S. Gamhrill succeeds Mr. MaeCormick his senior clerk. Mr, J. F. Quinn. assistant-accountant at the head office, is appointed inspector. Mr. W. E. Shaw, accountant at Christchurch, succeeds Mr. Quinn at the head office. Mr. T. Tudehope, chief clerk to the receiver of land revenue, New Plymouth, is promoted to the same position at Auckland. Mr. J. A. Redman, senior clerk at Auckland, succeeds Mr. Tudehope at New Plymouth.
