NOTES FROM WAIMAUKU.
BETTER FARMING PROSS 3 ECTS.
[by telegraph—own correspondent. WAIMATJKU, Thursday.
The fine flush of feed now showing has relieved the somewhat unhappy feelings of the Waimauki farmers, who of lato have deplored the heavy gales, late spring, excessive rain and seamen's strike, all factors operating against their interests. There, arc some fine potato crops in evidence, and this industry shows great promise of being established successfully in the district.
The returns at the Wajtemata Dairy Company's, factory compare favourably with those of last year. A pumping plant has been installed to handle the buttermilk, which is now forced a distance of 700 yds. to an elevation of 50ft. on a hill on a neighbouring farm, where pigs are fattened upon it. Mr. J. B. Copeland has been elected chairman of directors, on the resignation of Mr. E. M. Morgan, who filled the position for the past three years.
