FOUND 'AT FIVE HOUSES. YOUNG MAN PLEADS NOT GUILTY Charges of committing * a number of burglaries in tho suburbs were preferred against John Leslie Buckley, aged 21, in the Police Court yesterday. It was alleged that he broke into the following places:—Shop of T. R. Boles, at Point Chevalier, stealing wearing apparel valued at £2lB 5s 6d; dwelling of Helen Ritchie, at Mount Eden, goods valued at £6 7s 6d; dwelling of Eliza Orme, at Dominion Road, articles and money valued at £lO 12s 6d; house of Herbert Staples, at Mount Roskill, money and clothing valued at £l4 18s; house of W. J. Hockin, at Rcmuera, jewellery, a suit and money valued at £9 13s; and house of F. Morton, at Rcmucra, articles valued at £lB. Evidence was given by the various owners. Detective Moon said the accused was arrested at Ngatea on October 6. When charged with the burglary at Mr. Boles' shop, he said he drove to Point Chevalier with three other men committed for trial on the same charge. Ho remained in the car while they broke into the shop and stole various articles. Afterwards the men gave him some of the property and they then drove along Mount Albert, Road and "dumped" some of it. Witness told accused that his fingerprints had been discovered at the five houses. Accused replied that it would be unnecessary to call fingerprint evidence, as he would admit breaking into the houses and was anxious to assist in recovery of tho goods, besides saving tho department the expense of calling several witnesses.

A plea of not guilty to all charges was made by the accused, and bo was mitted to the Supreme Court for trial.
