MAIN TRUNK SERVICE.
DAYLIGHT LIMITED TO RUN. THREE EXPRESSES DAILY, TWO ADDITIONAL STOPS. TE KUITI AND OTOROHANGA. [BY TELEGKAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] WELLINGTON, Thursday. Arrangements for increasing the passenger express services on the Main Trunk Railway were announced by the Hon. J. G. Coates, as Minister for Railways, in his speech in the Town Halt last evening. He said that, in accordance with his expressed intention a daylight limited express service will bo given a trial as from November 15. The daylight limited will leave Wellington at, 7.55 a.m. and arrive at Auckland at 10.49 p.m. The corresponding tram will leave Auckland at 7.53 a.m. and arrive at Wellington at 11.10 p.m. These trains will stop at the same stations as the present night, limited expresses and will stop also at Te Kuiti. The time-table for the night limited expresses will not be altered. Both will be limited to eight coaches. The ordinary expresses will be speeded up slightly. The train which now leaves Wellington at 12.45 p.m. and arrives at Auckland at 6.38 a.m., will be despatched at 2 p.m. and arrive at 6.41 a.m. The ordinary express from Auckland will lea\ e at 7.45 p.m., as at present, and arrive at Wellington at 12.35 p.m., instead of 1.50 p.m. The northward journey will thus be reduced by 1 hour 12 minutes and the southward by 1 hour 15 minutes. The ordinary expresses will stop at Otorohanga. These alterations will enable passengers leaving and arriving at Wellington to obtain more convenient lunch 3nd will also give moro satisfactory meal times at Marton Junction.
