WA ITEM ATA BOATING CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING HELD. The forty-second animal meeting of Waitemata Boating Club was held last evening, Mr. W. Denison presiding. The report reviewed a successful season. The club's plant was in first-class condition and all the boats had. recently been overhauled. Three new practise fours had been purchased. The club was represented at all the principal regattas of the season and obtained many notable successes. W, A. Stevenson and It. Smith succeeded in winning the New Zealand championship double sculls and the eight-oar crew defeated the Wnnganui Rowing Club for the Somerville Shield. The club's representatives were also victorious in the annual race for the Smith Shield. Mention was made of the fact that a member of the club, T. Johnson, gained a place in the New Zealand eiglit which visited Australia. The balance-sheet showed the club to be in a very sound position financially. The report and balance-sheet were adopted and the following officers were elected:—Commodore, Hon. George Fowlds; vice-commodore, Mr. C. J. Ellerbeck; president, Mr. W. Denison; vice-presidents, Sir James Gunson. Messrs. W. E. Bush, It. Schmidt, W. Lowe, W. Bailey, D. C'. Hadlield, H. Buck, W. G. Mason, I>. M. Foreman, J. Frasisr Smith, G. Rose, J. McI'hail. T. Bridson; executive committee, Messrs. L. Brooker, T. Johnson. W. Stevenson, G. Shorland, C. Read, T. R. Impey; auditors, Messrs, A. A. Lucas and L. C. Barker; selection committee. Messrs. C. C. Cairns, V. S. Smith, T. Marshall; delegates to the Auckland Rowing Association, Messrs. A. M. Mackay, C. 11. Hunt, T. Johnson.
