THE N.Z. ROYAL SHOW.
PREPARATIONS IN HAND. EXTENSIVE IMPROVEMENTS. Tho largo numbers of people expected at the lioyal (N.Z.) Show will be astonished at the extent and importance of the improvements effected in the grounds of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Christ-church, whero the Show is to be held. The two buildings in hand at present, the cattle pavilion and tho new bar and stock attendants' accommodation, represent a total expenditure of closo on £IO,OOO and various minor improvements being effected will considerably increase that total, Tho work on the cattle pavilion is well forward. It and the new bar and stock attendants' accommodation building aro being constructed of concrete. The walls and roof of the cattle pavilion aro completed with tho exception of the glazing which is in hand at present and is almost finished. The stalls for the cattle are also well in hand. Tho building is admirably lighted and is very commodious. It is designed to accommodate a total of 414 animals—comprising 348 cattle, 24 fat caltlo and 42 bulls. It is 301Jrft. in length and 114 ft. wide. The building will about £6500. The old cattle pens are being transformed into loose boxes for light horses.
