NEPIA AND LEAGUE.

ENGLISH CLUB'S ATTITUDE. CONFIRMATION OF RUMOURS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 14. The Sporting Life states that although the Hull League Football Club officially confirms tho story that it has engaged Nepia, the well-known New Zealand Rugby player and that he is expected to arrive here about Christmas, the club has not explained how the difficulty regarding the two years' residence rule is going to be surmounted. This rule requires that a player from New Zealand or Australia sh/ill not be registered in this country until he has resided in Britain for two years. Presumably Hull expects this clear rule to be rescinded, but the question is asked, what would Nepia's position be supposing the other clubs oppose rescission of tho rule.
