SUBURBAN .ASSOCIATION, BUSY SEASON EXPECTED. The annual report of the Suburban Cricket Association reveals very rapid growth. At its inauguration about 10 years ago the association had only half a dozen team(i. whereas last year the number was 45, divided into four grades, 550 players actually tuking part m the games. The financial podition was very sound, for after meetiw heavy expenditure m connection with tie ten days* tournament last Christmas, a balance of £45 was carried forward. During last year the suburban representatives journeyed, to Matakana and were successful ra regaining the Walker (shield. The Ohristchurch Suburban representatives visited Auckland for the first timo, and took part, m _the annual tournament,! After defeamg Wellington, Franklin. Wairoa and Whangarei, they, played the final game with local representatives, and after a very keen m Auckland tea..i won. For this season a very largei programme was mapped out. It included visits to Chnßtchurch and Wellington a,t Christmas, and a Northern tour to mcludji games with Maiigonui, Whangarei, Kodnay and Northern Wairoa. Great difficulty would be experienced this season in securing mutable playing areas, for in addition to last season's clubs, applications for registration had already been made, by five new clubs, and more were expected. During (the recess the rules and constitution had been revised and would be submitted for .confirmation at the annual meeting. The standard of play last iteason showed marked improvement, and there were some fine performances. In the Christmas tourney no fewer than five centuries were recorded The report refers to the cotdi.al relations existing between the Auckland Cricket Association and the Suburban Association, and pays a tribute to the team from the former association that competed in the Christmas tournament. GRAFTON" CLUE'S MEETING. r „ The annual meeting of the Graf ten Cricket Club was held last evening in the Grafton Library, Mr. H. Horspool presiding. The report, which mentioned that fcur members of the club gained representative honours last season, was adopted. The bal-ance-sheet showed a satisfactory state of affairs. . Twelve new members were elected. The following officers were elected ron. Mr. S. Hesketh; vice-patron,' Mr. A Freeman; president, Mr. H. Horyiool; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr,l 8. J Huston: management committee, Messrs. E. Horspool, J. Leech. G-. L. Goodwin, T. B. Pope, E. G. Sloman and. W. Fletcher; selection committee, Messrs. C. Snedden, E Horspool and Leech; delegates to the Auckland Cricket Association; Messrs. H. Horspool, E. Horspool and Goodwin, . It ie expected that a senior team and a second grade team will bo entered in thp association's competitions. THE Y.M.C.A. CLUB. ' The annual meeting of the Y.M.C.A.
