UNREGISTERED DENTISTS.
MEN SEEK PROTECTION. MOTION BY HOSPITAL BOARD. . Tho position of unregistered dentists was brought to the notico of the Hospital Board last evening by a letter from tho Unregistered Dentists' Association. The letter the present position, was most acute. Unregistered dentists were trying to get legislation passed to protect their living, but the New Zealand Dental Association was trying .to block the bill now before Parliament. The unregistered men' were competent operators, they had been trained*for years by qualified men, and had over * five years' study. If the bill became law, they would be protected. Ihe chairman, Mr. W. Wallace, said he understood the Prime Minister had said he was not going on with tho bill this session. He thought these unregistered men should have some protection until the bill should come bufore Parliament. That seemed a reasonable thing. The board decided to ask the Prime Minister that if the bill did not come before the House this session, unregistered dentists should be given protection in the meantime.
| The chairman said he understood that many dentists in Auckland had their pass through length of service, and not through the university at all.
