A particularly bright selection of up-to-date photographs, . featuring topical events and items of public interest, is published in the illustrated section of tho Auckland Weekly News on sale to-day. Tliere is a wide variety of subjects and the issue is bound to appeal strongly to all readers. Prominence } is given to a fino series of snapshots secured at the Rugby football match between Hawke's Bay and Auckland last Saturday. Thrilling incidents of a sterling struggle are well portrayed, togothor with photographs of the teams and sections of the great crowd. The busy scenes among Auckland yachtsmen preparing for the summer season make another attractive page, while of particular interest to golfers is a series of. comprehensive pictures, illustrating the Shirley links in Christchurch where the New Zealand championships are to be decided, commencing on September 25. This week's centra double-page' is devoted to striking views of New Plymouth, the prosperous and picturesque i capital of Taranaki Province,, and the outlet for its wealth of dairy produce.
