YACHTING.

DEVONPORT YACHT CLUB. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The annual meeting of the Devonport Yacht Club was held in the Masonic Hall, Devonport, last evening. The president, Mr. G. Trevitnick, presided over a fair attendance. The annual report stated the past season had been successful. In addition to four regular fixtures, an extra race to Arkle's Bay was organised, all the evonts being well contested. The provision of a clubhouse and hauling-out grounds at both ends of the district would be formulated and placed before the club at an early dale. The balance-sheet showed a small credit balance on the year's working. The receipts included JEI2S from donations; £3B from members' fees, and £3O from entrance fees. The principal items of expenditure were: £BB for prizes and trophies, and £3l for danco and prize night expenses. The assets. £IOO, included £9O cash in the bunk and £3 in hand, and the liabilities stood at £5. The chairman said that_ but for the generosity of its donors in giving financial assistance the club would not bo able to carry on. Revenue from all sources amounted to £241, and of that sum only £3B had been received from membership fees. On behalf of the club ho wished to thank all the club's donors for their valuable assistance. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Piitron. Earl Jellicna; vice-patron, the Hon. E. W. Ensol; assistantsecretary, Mr. S. Comnton: treasurer, Mr. ®-,. auditor, Mr. R. A. Spinley: so.icitor, Mr, ,T. Alexander; starter and timekeeper. Mr. W. A. Wilkinson; judge. Mr. G. Miller: launch handicapner, Mr. W. E. Htting; committee, Mes«ra. R. Mays. L. M. Wood, A. Stewart, E. Suraggon, A. Carnahan. A. J. Denby, E. Robb. H. Duder; to the Auckland Yacht and Motorboat Association, Messrs. A. Carnahan and R. Mays. The annual subscription was fixed at 53.
