SATURDAY'S WORK. [by telegraph. —mEss association.] WELLINGTON. Saturday. Dismal conditions prevailed again at Trenthani this morning, training operations beins conducted for the most part in the rain. The condition, of the tracks is revealed by the times registered. The trial grass was available for fast work but many trainers sent tneir charges on the sand. I hero was little schooling over the fences an 1 hurdies. Eonmark. alone, ran seven furlongs on tho grass in lm 45s —a good gallop under the conditions. Debate <R. Reed) was going well when finishing in front of Ardfinnen in a gallop over four furlongs, which took lm. _ Bright Eyes and Nino of Spades did two rounds on the sand, sprinting down the ptraight. ' Comical ran tho last seven furlongs of a round 011 tho grass in lrn 43 3-ss. (he last fivo furlongs taking lm ltis—a good effort. Arrov/hoy and Mutu took 603 to cover half-a-niilo on the grass. Dick and Maunga. after doing threequarter pace work, ran seven furlongs in lm 10s, Dick going tho bettor of tho pair at tho finish. Nadarino and Minotus were galloped half-3-niiie, and the heavy truck was finding them out at the finish. Highflown ran down from tho half-milo post in 57 4-ss. White Comet, pulling up, finished several lengths in front of Hyania in a gallop over six furlongs, which took lm '2Bs. Wench (11. E. llydor) and Many Colours (A. McDonald) woro companions in a schooling gallop over four hurdles, both jumping very well. Lady Gay (J. S. Young) and Uralla ("ft. Ronnie) wero sent over three hurdles. Uralla was inclined to run about at her fences. Later ITralla and Zircon wero mates in a six-furlong gallop oij the grass, in which Uralla accounted for Zircon very easily in lm 28 2-ss. The Strand, moved very nicelv when he sprinted down the straight each timo of two rounds on tho sand. San Porte, Frenchman (A. McMullnn), and Peter Arnnns (S. Walls) took on five steeplechase fences down the back, and ono at the three-furlong post on tho course proper. Peter Amans lost ground at tho first fenco. and San Forto was soon well clear of Frenchman. All three cleared t.he last fences quite well though Frenchman appeared to jump a bit big. Whariti sprinted hajf-a-milo in 595, ridden out. Compared with tho other gallops, it was a creditable effort. Tinohari, alone, cantered round to tho three-furlong post and ran home in 41s. Lucullont and Captain Harto were together at the end of six furlongs in lm Ms. Pink Ropo galloped six furlongs in lm 28 2-ss. Black Art (A. McDonald) nuilo outclassed Sir Wai (Corlett) in a schoolini; gallop ovor fivo steeplechase fences on the. course proper. Black Art jumped very freely and afterwards hit out, well whon doing paco work. Crluement gave anything hut a good display when schooled ovor tho hurdles in the centre of tho course. Eorio hit out freely when doing two rounds of paco work on tho sand.
