MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE
DEATH OF FOOTBALUER. ANOTHER PLAYER COMMITTED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) ADELAIDE, July 3. At the inquest concerning the death of the footballer, John Purcell, who was injured in a match on June 20, the fcoroner found that death was due to meningitis induced by a blow struck by William H-. Oliver. Tho latter was comiqitted for trial on a charge of alleged manslaughter. In the course of a League football match at Berri on June 20 a quarrel occurred. It was alleged that William Harold Oliver, a prominent inter-State ver, struck John Purcell, who died in the hospital a few days later. Oliver was arrested.
