LAKE ST. JOHN.
Sir,-—Mr. R. W. Roache comments on my ignorance, and there may be something mit I will concede him this much, that yh.it I do not know greatly exceeds the little I have learnt. At the same time I am not as credulous -as to believe that water will rise higher than its fouutainhead, a? Mr. Roache appears to do. If ho can produce evidence to show thai the source of the lake exists in soma remote region far from the polluting effect of. close settlement, ho will, at least, introduce a fascinating study in geology.
