NOTES FROM REDVALE.
[BS TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT 1 BEDVALE, Friday. Dairying operations are greatly reduced now, but all engaged in this industry report a profitable season. The lime works have closed down for the wet season, though frequent shipments are despatched, wliilo a considerable quantity is carted locally. Tho prospect of the early metalling of ■the clay road portion of tho main road has induced two settlers to in motorvans for quick transit of 'goods and farm produce. , ■ Last summer was easily a record in the number of cars passing through tho district. Over 200 wero counted on Easter Monday. Being only 10 miles from Takapuna the district is fast becoming a favourite trip for motorists. In response to suggestions of several campers a resident has cut up a block of riverside sections on the Okura. Social life has not been at a standstill, several enjoyable dances having been held, different settlers giving tho use of their houses in turn, The need of a public hall is much felt. A ratepayers' association is to bo formed here. Settlement is increasing in tho district and it is felt that such an organisation is needed to watch Redvalo interests.
