"TATTERED SIX HUNDRED."
MEN BROKEN IN THE WAR. There was a touching scene at the Pensions Issue Offices, Acton Vale, recently, says a "London paper, when 600 men of " the Tattered Battalion," all wounded ex-Service men in military hospitals and homes, were entertained by the Luncheon Club of the oilicc in their entertainment hall. Many of the broken guests were stretcher, invalid-chair, or bed cases, who were brought to the party by lied Cross helpers. A band played; high tea was set out amid flowers and decorations, and, assisted by Mr. Rex Harold, the comedian, Miss' Mollio Seymour arranged a programme, in which well-known hall and concert artists took part.
