NORTHERN AUSTRALIA.
COMMISSION OF CONTROL. PROVISION'S OF NEW BILL. Australian and N.Z. Cable Ansocialion. (Ilecd. 12.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE. July 2. The Minister for Home and Territory, Mr. C. F. Pearce, has introduced a bill in the Federal Parliament to provide for tho formation of a commission to control tropical Australia north of tho 20th parallel. It is proposed to cease using the name " Northern Territory " and to adopt that of " Northern Australia." The area would, under the bill, be divided into two States, Northern and Central. Tho latter would bo administered separately.
