MURDER CHARGE DENIED. STATEMENT BY ACCUSED. • Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 12.5 a.m.) SYDNEY. July 2. The trial of Cecil Aves on a charge of murdering Mrs. Quirk at Redfern on March 12 was continued to-day. Accused gave evidence emphatically denying all knowledge of the murder. He said that on tho night of the tragedy ho kissed deceased's daughter, Alice Quirk, good-night. He did not know of the outrage until he was awakened early next morning.
