COLOUR IN EIDERDOWNS.
That colour plays :i tremendous part in influencing our health and tem|>Ci'amnnt is a fact, that admits of no argument. More and more colour wisely demands the modern home-maker, and manufacturers have not been slow in giving her what she asks, . remarks a writer in an exchange. This season's eiderdowns are woiulerjul in their Maze of colour—a veritable riot of it, one is tempted to write, yet. that would not be strictly true, for theie is nothing crude nor blatant about them. The all-over patterns have given place to eiderdowns that have a distinct decorative panel or inset, balanced by a perfectlv plain background. For instance, a quite new design is in oxidised silver satin. Untitling lengthwise troin top to bottom of the cuiilt are two narrow panels of printed velvet in growing blues and purples, all merging mistily into each other. Just before the panels reach the foot of the eiderdown they taper off, each finishing in a heavy oxidised silver tassel.
