f NEW REGULATIONS MADE. 5 The new regulations affecting tho qnali- ■ fymg examinations of pharmacists have s been passed, and a new curriculum for / students has been framed by tho Pharj , maceutical Society, writes a pharmaceutical . chemist in the Westminster Gazette. After passing tho preliminary examination the candidate for the first scientific examination will be required to produce evidence that he has received an approved systematic course of instruction in chemistry ( of 200, hours, in botany 120 hours, i and m physics 120 hours. 1 Before entering for the qualifying exam- • niation tho candidate "must produco a dee claration that ho has been trained under 0 the direct supervision of a pharmacist in - tho dispensing of medicine for 4000 hours ~ spread over not less than two years, and v a certificate signed by tho principal of V an approved institution showing that since '' passing the first scientific examination he IC has received a systematic course of inr struction of not less than 720 hours', of which 300 hours shall have been spent in the study of pharmacy, 300 in pharmaceutical chemistry, and 120 in phannacogoury. When he has been through these courses 3 and passed the qualifying examination, and j shown that ho. possesses a knowledge ,of 1 tho laws which affect his business, the i candidate may open a chemist's shop.
