AN UNFORTUNATE FARMER. FAMILY REMOVED TO SAFETY. [BY TELEGRAPH.—-OWN CORRESPONDENT.] FALMERSTON NORTH. Monday. Heavy rain fell lato last week along the Manawatu line in the vicinity of Shannon and caused a flood over tho lowlying country. " One settler, Mr. W. Coloy, was flooded out, there being sft. of water over a large area of his farm and a foot of water in his house. Ho was compelled to remove his wifo and family to safety and then rescue his stock. It will be some davs before the water subsides.
