PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS THE THREE-MILE PIVENTS. The final events of the Auckland provincial championship athletic meeting were held at the Domain lust evening. The meeting was commenced on Saturday, but the threemile walk champion-ship and the three-mile running championship were held over. These events did not affect the club championship. Akarana Club retains the shield with 73 points; then follow University, GO points; Auckland, 27 points; Grammar, 17 points; and Hamilton. 10 points. The track was in good order, and in addition to the events mentioned above, other contests took place. The officials were:—Judges—Messrs. G. Metcalfe. T. Elliott. \. Hooker and R. Philips; timekeeper, Mr, W. Morton; starter, Mr. W. L. Elliott. Kesults are as fallow:— Three Mile Walk Championship.--G. >. Nicholls. 1; C. Donnell. 2; K. Lovatt-, 3. Time, '24 m3O 4-53. Nicholls finished , well ahead, while the second and third men were about '2O yards apart at the tape. Three Mile Run Championship.--i. ■«.- WiUon, 1; W. K. L. Vallance, 2; W. Savidan. 3. Time, 15m '25 2-ss. The three paced men kept well together until the iinal 000 yards, when Wilson sprinted away and won eanly. P. Vallance did not hnish. ■4lO Yards Hurdles Handicap.—A. C.
