Page, S.M., to-day in the case in which the police proceeded against Carl Petersen Lindegreen, secretary of the Dominion Sportsmen's Association. Two of tha charges alleged that defendant had printed documents containing statements as to dividends paid on investments on the iotaiisator at the races at Pahnerston North on December 29 and 30, and further charges related to a betting transaction at Nelson in connection with, the Wairarapa Cup. run at Tauherenikau on January 1. The magistrate said lie was of opinion that defendant should be convicted, and imposed the maximum penalty, £IOO.
