AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. There was increased activity on the Auckland shareniarket yesterday, although the demand for Government securities was somewhat easier. War Loans, 1938, had sale at £96 10s, holders closing at £96 15s, as on the previous day, with la to buyers offering £96 7s 6d. Holders of the 1930 issue advanced 5s to £97. There were, no buyers. The 1927 issue, at £9B, was sought at £97 5:. Holders of Inscribed Stock, 1938, increased quotations by 2s Gd on the previous day's figure to £96 15b, but buyers receded 5s to £96. Buyers of Soldiers' Loan Inscribed Stock advanced 5s lo £IOO 5s without moving holders at £lOl. In local body debentures there was a sale of City Council, 1040, SJ, per cent, at £95 15s. In banks Nationals of NewZealand again chanced hands at £6 15s 6(1, more being available at that figure, late buyers £6 14s. There was a sale of New South Wales at £4l 10s, 'ate buyers £4l, sellers £42. New Zealands were unchanged at holders 53<, buyers 52s 6d, as were also rights at sellers 31s 4d, buyers 31s 3d. Unions of Australia, were done at £l4 and £l4 0s 6d, but, sellers closed at £l4 2s fcd. as on the previous days, buyers £l3 19s. In insurances South British were done at 465, late buyers 455, sellers 46s Gd. There was no change in New Zealauds at sellers 31s. buyers 30s lOd. There were buyers (if Nationals at 71s 6d. with holders at 735, 3d lower than on .Monday. In coal Westports were sold at 31s 9d. In gas there were two sales of Aueklands at 24s 6d. In miscellaneous lines Milne and Ghoyce debenture stock changed hands at 22s 9d, with a further demand at that price, late sellers 22s lOd. There was a sale of New Zealand Breweries at 395. New Zealand Farmers' Fertiliser had sale at 955. Taranaki Oils, at 31s Gd, were wanted at, 30s 3d. Wilsons Cements were disposed of at 31s 6d.
