ELEVATED FOOTWAY.

Sir, —As Queen Street is so sorely in need of rciief ori account of the foot traffic, may I suggest an elevaled footway from Customs Street to Smith and Caughey's, just above the verandahs, say 6ft.," on either side, with egress at several stations along tho line. It need not be a heavy structure, and there are no particular obstructions. I think _ this would certainly relieve the congestion. C.P.
