WONDERFUL WIRELESS.
AID TO MEDICAL MEN. DIAGNOSIS FROM A DISTANCE. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Feb. 90. A remarkable experiment at the Cardiff broadcasting studio was undertake a in order to test the possibility of medical men diagnosing illness by tho aid of wireless. Special microphones were strapped over tho hearts of thrco men. Each microphone was connected with a 12valvo amplifier, and the latter was eonnetced by telephone with a transmitting station one mile away. From this station the patients' heartbeats were transmitted back to the broadcasting studio. Doctors in attendance there heard tho heart-beats from loud-speakers. Tho signals were faint at first, but by means of further amplification, tho doctors were able to distinguish the beats of a young and healthy man, and also to diagnose tho heart troubles from which the other two patients were suffering. It is proposed to undertake other experiments, which it is believed will be of great scientific value.
