AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. There was little business done on the Auckland sharemarket on Saturday. In Government securities, there was inquiry for war loans, 1927, at £97 10s, while the 1938 issue was on offer at £97, with rio response in. cither case. Inscribed Stock, .1938, were quoted at £97, disclosing buyers at £96 10s. The 1939 issue was again available at £97 with no sellers. In banks New South Wales had sale at £42, more being available at that figure, but there were no further buyers. New Zealands wero wanted at 53s 3d, buyers 52s 9d, while rights at 31s 6<i were asked for at 31s 3d. Buyers of Unions of Australia dropped their offers by 6d to £l3 18s Gci, while holders were firm at £l4 Is. In insurance there was no change in New Zealands at buyers 30s 6d, sellers 31s. Holders of South British were steady at 48s, no buyers responding. In shipping thero was a sale of Northern Steams (ord.) at 16s 3d, the market closing at that figure, buyers 16s. In miscellaneous lines farmers' Cooperative Auctioneering (A pref.) changed hands at 18s, late buyers altering that figure, which was 9d better than Friday's price. There were no further sellers. In mining holders of Waihis increased their quotation 3d to 265, with,,, buyers unchanged at 255.
