ANZAC DAY ON SUNDAY.
OPPOSITION OF SOLDIERS. Tlio suggestion that Auzac Day should be observed on tiie nearest Sunday will be strenuously opposed by the Returned Soldiers' Association, states tiro president of the Auckland branch, Mr. E. W. Index-. The matter was discussed recently at a meeting of picture theatre managers and members of .Parliament. Mr. Inder maintains that it is little enough to ask the, public of New Zealand to give one day in the year to the remembrance of the .sacrifices made by the country's youth during the Great War.
