ACCLIMATISATION WORK.

NEW BRANCH OF SOCIETY, FORMATION AT NORTH SHORE. A branch of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society has been formed on the north side of the harbour, and registered under the name of the. Waitemata Acclimatisation Society. The area under its jurisdiction extends from Devonport to Lucas Creek, thence to Silver-dale.- Forty members were enrolled at the initial meeting. Tho officers elected were: President, Mr. Frank Quick (Takapuna) ; vice-presi-dent, Dr. E. V. Corry (Northeote); secretary and treasurer, Mr. F. Bartlett (Northeote); delegate, to Auckland Council, Mr. A. Parrish (Northeote). A consignment of 20 pheasants has been received from the Auckland society, and a game farm has. been established on the property of Mr. Quick, at Takapuna. The liberation of trout, fry in various parts of tho district is also under consideration.
