IMPORTS TO BRITAIN.
TRADES UNION DEMAND. SWEATED LABOUR OPPOSED. Australian and N.Z. (''aide Association. (Reed. 7.5 p.m.) LONDON. Feb. 20. Tile Parliamentary correspondent of the Daily Express reports that representatives of the trades unions' in Hie iron and steel industries have decided in favour 'if the total prohibition of imports which have been produced under sweated labour conditions. '.Lhis is the first time the workers in any great industry in Britain have adopted this policy. It is noteworthy, says the correspondent. that Mr. Robert Dcnnison, Labour M.l', for Birmingham (Kings Norton) and Mr. John Baker, Labour M.l', for Wolverhampton (Bilsion), who represent the iron and steel trades confederation, abstained from voting in the division on the Safeguarding of Industries Amendment on Monday.
