attacked and drugged. BANK EMPLOYEE'S STATEMENT. A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE. Feb. 20. An employee of the Swan Hill I,rami, of the Hank of New South Wales, Mr. Trevor Thompson, lias reported to the police that, while he was returning to-his home late in the evening he was accosted by two men. and asked whether lie had the keys 01 the bank. He states that when he ret used to give any information, lie was gauged, and forced to .swallow a quantity of |i,,uid. On recovering consciousness four hours later, lie says he found himself lving half a mile from the scene of the attack. Thompson did no! have the bank kevs in his possession at the time. ; lio same night a business place at Swan Hill was broken into, but the thieves did not succeed m opening the safe.
